Our Beliefs
We really focus most of our attention on our “core” beliefs. These are the beliefs we centre our faith around. They are the beliefs that unite the church across the boundaries of different church denominations and what define someone who chooses Christ.
Here are the beliefs that we consider to be our “core”:
We believe that God exists in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Father - The Father is the creator of each individual person, but also the creator of the entire universe.
Son - We believe that the son is Jesus. He is one equal part of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Jesus was both human and God. He lived a sinless life and was a blameless sacrifice for all of humanity. He died on a cross, and three days later rose from the dead, conquering the power of sin and death. He went to heaven to prepare to, one day, return to rule over all the earth as King and Lord.
The Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is another equal part of the trinity. He works to point people to the father through Jesus. He provides strength to live the way God has called us to live. He provides wisdom to understand the bible in all its truth. He gives gifts to each believer that they can use to serve the people around them.
Scripture - We believe the Bible was written by humans but inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the infallible word of God given to humanity to help us to live a life that honours God. Scripture is what we weigh everything against for how we live out our faith.
Salvation - Salvation is the answer for humanity and is our only hope and solution to all sin that plagues humanity. We believe that it is a free gift given by God, because of the sacrifice of His son and is available to all who ask in faith.
